Michael A. Spence

scholar, economist
Born: 1943
Birthplace: Montclair, N.J.

A bi-coastal economist specializing in the study of dynamic competition and the economics of information, he taught at Stanford University (1973-76) and Harvard (1971–73, 1976–90) before returning to Stanford as dean of the business school (1990).
