Edward Davy physician, scientist Born: 6/16/1806 Birthplace: Ottery St. Mary, Devon, England
After studying medicine and beginning a career as a chemist, he became interested in telegraphy. He immigrated to Adelaide, South Australia, in 1838 where he indulged his interest, ultimately inventing the electromagnetic repeater which made wireless telegraphy possible. Died: 1/26/1885
