professional football coach with the NY Jets and Baltimore Colts who won two of the sport's biggest games in history; led the Colts to a victory over the NY Giants in the first ever sudden-death championship game in 1958 and pulled off the biggest upset in Super Bowl history when he guided the NY Jets past the Colts in 1968; he also won a second NFL title in 1959 with the Colts; in 20 seasons was 134-130-7; while in the Navy served as an assistant coach to former college teammate at Miami University in Ohio - Paul Brown; coached under Brown again with the Cleveland Browns from 1949-53; elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1978 and the Indiana Sports Hall of Fame in 1974; of natural causes
