Albert Gore Sr.

Age: 90

32–year Congressional veteran from Tennessee who served seven terms in the House and three terms in the Senate from 1939 to 1971. The father of Vice President Al Gore Jr., he was nearly selected as the Democratic nominee for vice president himself, in 1956 and in 1960.

Died: Dec. 5, 1998.
