Wilson Greatbatch

Medical cardiac pacemaker—Greatbatch's was trained as an electrical engineer but his research combined engineering with medical electronics, agricultural genetics, and the electrochemistry of pacemaker batteries. The first implantable pacemaker was a result of his pacemaker patent. (1986)
