Elijah Pitts

Age: 60

scored first rushing touchdown in the Super Bowl as a running back for the Green Bay Packers where he spent nine seasons before becoming a longtime assistant coach in the NFL and CFL; spent 16 years as a Buffalo Bills assistant and in 1995 served as an interim head coach after Marv Levy was diagnosed with prostate cancer; a native of Mayflower, Ark., Pitts starred at Philander Smith College and was chosen in the 13th round of the 1961 draft by Green Bay; also played in Chicago, Los Angeles and New Orleans before retiring in 1971; began coaching career under Chuck Knox in Los Angeles in 1973; went to Buffalo, Houston and the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the CFL before rejoining the Bills in 1985 as running backs coach; of abdominal cancer
