Division III football coach whose Denison University teams were the last in the nation to run the single-wing offense more than 40 years after it went out of fashion; coached Denison from 1954-92, posting a record of 200-142-19, with an offense he played in high school and college in the 1940s in which the quarterback never takes a snap from center but instead blocks for other backs who usually receive a 5-yard snap from the center; past president of the North Coast Conference coaches association; of congestive heart failure
