Film and television actress best known as Elaine Benes on the NBC sitcom Seinfeld (1990–98). Louis-Dreyfus got her start in the famous Chicago Second City improvisation group, and from there was asked to join Saturday Night Live during her junior year at Northwestern. Shortly after her three seasons on SNL ended (by her own choice), Louis-Dreyfus was offered the part of Elaine on Seinfeld, and the rest is television history. Louis-Dreyfus appeared in Woody Allen's Deconstructing Harry (1997) and as the voice of Atta in A Bug's Life (1998). She returned to television with her own short-lived series, Watching Ellie (2002–2003) and The New Adventures of Old Christine (2006).
