Robert Pilatus

Pilatus and his partner Fabrice Morvan of the German pop duo Milli Vanilli, shocked the music world back in 1990 when they confessed to lip-synching the songs on an album which earned them a Grammy for best new artist. The album had generated three No. 1 singles including the title song “Girl You Know It's True” and “Blame it on the Rain.” After the duo's disgrace, Pilatus attempted to reestablish his music career in 1993 with Morvan, but was unsuccessful. In the last years of his life, Pilatus struggled with drug addiction and had a few run-ins with the law.
