Fred Friendly

(Ferdinand Friendly Wachenheimer)
Age: 82

broadcast journalist and former president of CBS News. His television collaboration with Edward R. Murrow, See It Now, was the first show to be broadcast coast-to-coast, on Nov. 18, 1951. He won several broadcasting awards including 10 Peabodys.

Died: March 3, 1998.
