Stéphane Grappelli

jazz violinist

The legendary improvisational jazz violinist, who founded the Quintet of the Hot Club in France, helped shape the sound of jazz and influenced scores of musicians. Grappelli will be remembered for his flowing melodies and emotional delivery. Many of his recordings, including Jazz 'Round Midnight, Plays Gershwin and Plays Jerome Kern, are considered some of the greatest in jazz.
