Murray Burnett playwright
With June Alison, Burnett penned the play Everybody Comes to Rick's, which never made it to the stage but did find a home on the big screen as Casablanca. Burnett was incensed that he received little credit for inspiring the Academy Award-winning film and spent years fighting — in and out of court — for recognition. His other plays include Hickory Street. Born: 1911? Died: 1997
