left-handed pitcher who lasted 16 years in the major leagues, 11 with Chicago White Sox teams that never finished higher than third; after a stint with Cleveland, Lee retired in 1948 as a member of the New York Giants; he spent 40 years as a major-league scout; he finished his career with a record of 117–124 and a 3.56 ERA; of complications related to Parkinsons disease
