Sanford Meisner acting teacher
Meisner was one of the most respected and influential acting teachers of the 20th century, with students including Joanne Woodward, Gregory Peck, Diane Keaton, Grace Kelly and the directors Sidney Lumet, Sydney Pollack and David Mamet. He urged his students to be “truthful, spontaneous and emotionally credible.” Meisner also directed Manhattan's Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theater and established the Meisner/Carville School of Acting.
