Colleen Dewhurst

Birthplace: Montreal, Quebec, Canada

Canadian-born actress who debuted on Broadway in Eugene O'Neill's Desire Under the Elms (1952). During 27 years in the theatre, she won two Obie Awards and two Tony Awards. Also a successful film and TV actress, Dewhurst died two days before winning her fourth Emmy. She married and divorced the late actor George C. Scott twice; actor Campbell Scott is their son.
