EncyclopediaHeliodorusHeliodorus (hē"lēōdôr'us) [key], fl. 175 B.C., Syrian statesman. The treasurer of Seleucus IV (Seleucus Philopator), he murdered the king and attempted unsuccessfully to usurp the throne.
