EncyclopediaFatimaFatima (făt'imu, fä'timu, futē'mu) [key], 616?–633?, daughter of Muhammad by his first wife, Khadija. Fatima was the wife of Ali, the mother of Hasan and Husayn, and reputedly the ancestress of the Fatimids.
