Donatus

Donatus (Aelius Donatus) (ē'lēus dōnät'us) [key], fl. 353, Roman grammarian; teacher of St. Jerome. His only well-known work, the Ars grammatica [elements of grammar], was throughout the Middle Ages the standard elementary Latin grammar.
