Orange County romps through suburbia's stock landscape. Written by Mike White (the man behind Chuck and Buck and the pilot of TV's cult favorite Freaks and Geeks), the Californian comedy offers glimpses of his spot-on, oftentimes uncanny humor. Colin Hanks (Tom's son) stars as Shaun, an intelligent high school student whose dreams of Stanford are thwarted by the incompetence of nearly everybody around him. His helpful girlfriend is played by Schuyler Fish (Sissy Spacek's daughter). The celeb kids attack their material seriously, but Orange County wouldn't be worth visiting without the scene-stealing talent of Jack Black (as Shaun's stoner brother), Catherine O'Hara (his unstable mother), or even Mike White himself, who slips in a hilarious cameo as an English teacher.
