Kazanluk

Kazanluk (kä"zänluk') [key], town (1993 pop. 60,019), central Bulgaria, in the Kazanluk valley, a region famous for its rose fields. Kazanluk developed in the 17th cent. as a manufacturing center for attar of roses. Other manufactures include textiles and musical instruments. The Kazanluk valley is also noted for its many ancient Thracian tombs and other sites, and is known as the Valley of the Thracian Kings.
