EncyclopediaCasiquiareCasiquiare (käsēkyä'rā) [key], river, c.100 mi (160 km) long, S Venezuela. Also called the Canal Casiquiare, it is a branch of the Orinoco and flows SW to the Río Negro, thus linking the Orinoco and Amazon basins.
