Bellamy, Joseph

Bellamy, Joseph, 171990, New England clergyman, b. Cheshire, Conn. A follower of Jonathan Edwards and a powerful revivalist of the Great Awakening, he preached in Bethlehem, Conn., for 52 years. Bellamy wrote True Religion Delineated (1750) and pamphlets in opposition to the Half-Way Covenant.
