Avellaneda, Alonso Fernández de

Avellaneda, Alonso Fernández de (älôn'sō fārnän'dāth dā ävelyänā'&thstrok;ä) [key], pen name used by the unknown Spanish writer who published a spurious second part of Don Quixote in 1614, before Cervantes's own second part appeared (1615). The book is usually referred to as El Quijote apócrifo [the spurious Don Quixote], and its author is unidentified, although various attributions have been made.
