Alcoy

Alcoy (älkoi') [key], city (1990 pop. 65,082), Alicante prov., SE Spain, in Valencia, on the Serpis River. An important industrial center with manufactures of textiles, paper (especially cigarette paper), metals, and furniture, it also has trade in grain, wine, and oil from the surrounding region.
