Abengourou (äbeng-gOO'rOO) [key], town (1988 pop. 59,114), E Côte d'Ivoire. It is the commercial center for a region producing cacao, coffee, kola nuts, plantains, yams, manioc, and timber. The French established an administrative post in Abengourou in 1896.
