The Cruise| Director: | Bennett Miller | | Artisan Entertainment; NR; 76 minutes | | Release: | 10/98 | | With: | Timothy (Speed) Levitch |
Miller is truly a gifted, inspired filmmaker who knew good material when he saw it. But his subject, the painfully self-absorbed Timothy Levitch, a homeless New York tour guide, doesn't know when enough's enough. Miller observes his subject, as he spews forth endless facts and anecdotes about New York, Levitch-style. That is, in long-winded, philosophical short stories. True Levitch is an odd duck with a story, but his schtick gets old quickly.
