Pearl Jam Biography

Pearl Jam

alternative rock band

One of several Seattle-based grunge bands, Pearl Jam found a following during the 1990s. The group's first album, Ten (1991), established the band with songs such as “ Alive” and “Jeremy”, which MTV named the Video of the Year. Vs (1993), the band's second album, entered the charts at No. 1. A year later Pearl Jam released Vitalogy (1994), but music wasn't the only thing on its members' minds. Band members waged a battle against TicketMaster, claiming the booking firm over priced concert tickets and held a monopoly on the service. Several band members testified in front of the United States Department of Justice. Antitrust charges were investigated but no action was taken. The band has since released three albums, Mirror Ball (1995) No Code (1996), and Yield (1998). Current band members include: Eddie Vedder (Edward Louis Seversen III), singer, songwriter; Stone Gossard, guitar; Mike McCready, lead guitar; Jack Irons, drummer; Jeff Ament , bass; (former band members: Dave Krusent, drummer; Dave Abbruzzese, drummer).
