British mystery writer and playwright with more than 80 novels to her credit. Most of her books featured either Hercule Poirot, a Belgian detective, or Miss Marple, an elderly spinster with a knack for solving murders. Christie's books include The Murder of Roger Ackroyd (1926), Murder on the Orient Express (1934) and Death on the Nile (1937).
