Emmy Award-winning television, film and stage actor best known for his portrayal of Hawkeye Pierce on M*A*S*H (1972–83). He has also appeared in several films, including What Women Want (2000), Everyone Says I Love You (1996), Same Time Next Year (1978), The Four Seasons (1981) and Crimes and Misdemeanors (1989). He is the son of actor Robert Alda.
