Wanganui

Wanganui (wŏngˌənōˈē, wŏngˌgə–) [key], city (1996 pop. 41,097), SW North Island, New Zealand, near the mouth of the Whanganui (or Wanganui) River. Wanganui is a distribution center and port for coastal trade. It was founded in 1840.
