Vejle

Vejle vīˈlə [key], city (1992 pop. 46,074), capital of Vejle co., central Denmark, a seaport at the head of the Vejle Fjord. It is a commercial and industrial center and a rail junction. Manufactures include textiles, iron, hardware, canned goods, and leather goods. Of note in Vejle is St. Nicholas Church (13th cent.; restored).
