Shimada

Shimada (shĭmäˈdä) [key], city (1990 pop. 73,810), Shizuoka prefecture, E central Honshu, Japan, on the Oi River. It is a distribution point for timber and rice and a center for woodworking, chemical, and mechanical industries.
