Qitai

Qitai kēˈtīˈ [key], town and oasis, N Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, China, in the Dzungarian basin. It is a road hub and a trading center (furs, skins, raisins, and tea). Gold mines are nearby. The name sometimes appears as Ch'i-tai.
