Matapan, CapeMatapan, Cape (mătˈəpănˌ) [key], or Cape Taínaron tâˈnärôn, S Greece, southern extremity of the Greek mainland, of the Peloponnesus, and of the Taygetus Mts., projecting into the Ionian Sea.
