Kawagoe

Kawagoe käwäˈgōā [key], city (1990 pop. 304,854), Saitama prefecture, central Honshu, Japan. Silk textile manufacturing, electronics, and food processing are among the city's industries. Kawagoe is the site of Kitain Temple (built 830), famed for its images of the 500 disciples of Buddha.
