Berwickshire (bĕrˈĭkshər, –shĭr) [key] or Berwick bĕrˈĭk, former county, SE Scotland. Under the Local Government Act of 1973, Berwickshire became (1975) part of the new Borders region (now the Scottish Borders council area).
