Skokie

Skokie skōˈkē [key], village (1990 pop. 59,432), Cook co., NE Ill., an industrial suburb adjacent to Chicago; inc. 1888. Its varied products include communications, computer, and electrical equipment; rubber, iron, and steel products; and tools. There are major retail centers and the publishing industry is also important. Hebrew Theological College (1922) was moved there from Chicago in 1958.
