Pompton Lakes

Pompton Lakes, borough (1990 pop. 10,539), Passaic co., NE N.J.; settled 1682 by the Dutch, inc. 1895. It is chiefly residential, but textiles and blasting equipment are made. Several pre-Revolutionary houses remain.
