Leawood (lēˈwŏd) [key], city (1990 pop. 19,693), Johnson co., NE Kans., a suburb of Kansas City; inc. 1948. An agricultural trade center that has undergone major suburban development, it has business offices and headquarters as well as meat-processing plants and light manufacturing.
