CoronadoCoronado (kŏrˌənäˈdō) [key], city (1990 pop. 26,540), San Diego co., S Calif., on a peninsula on the west side of San Diego Bay; inc. 1890. It is a well-known beach resort. The city is linked to San Diego by the Coronado Bay Bridge at the northern end of the Silver Strand Peninsula. Adjacent to the city are a large U.S. naval air station and a naval amphibious base.
