Christian Sinding

Sinding, Christian (krĭsˈtyän sĭnˈdĭng) [key], 1856–1941, Norwegian nationalist composer, best remembered for his lyrical, romantic piano works, including the popular Rustle of Spring. He also wrote the opera Der Heilige Berg ( The Holy Mountain, 1914), orchestral works, chamber music, and songs. In 1920–21 he taught at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, N.Y.
