Peter Frederick Rothermel

Rothermel, Peter Frederick (rŏħˈərmĕl) [key], 1817–95, American painter, b. Nescopeck, Pa., studied in Paris. His noted historical works include a colossal Battle of Gettysburg (Capitol building, Harrisburg, Pa.).
