Josetsu

Josetsu (jōˌsāˈtsō) [key], fl. 1425, Japanese landscape painter, teacher, and priest. His work shows the formal characteristics of Chinese suiboku-ga (black-and-white) painting. He worked in Kyoto, where Shubun was his pupil.
