Dante Alighieri

Introduction

Dante Alighieri (dănˈtē, Ital. dänˈtā älēgyĕˈrē) [key], 1265–1321, Italian poet, b. Florence. Dante was the author of the Divine Comedy, one of the greatest of literary classics.
