EncyclopediaNoricumNoricum (nor'ikum) [key], province of the Roman Empire. It corresponded roughly to modern Austria S of the Danube and W of Vienna. It was bordered on the west by Rhaetia and on the east by Pannonia. Noricum was incorporated into the Roman Empire in 16 B.C.
