Enid

Enid (ē'nid) [key], city (1990 pop. 45,309), seat of Garfield co., N central Okla.; inc. 1893. It is an important trade and processing center for an area rich in wheat, dairy cattle, poultry, and oil. There are flour mills, food-processing plants, and many oil-related industries in the city. The Museum of the Cherokee Strip, of which Enid was a part, is in the city. Vance Air Force Base is nearby.
