Caucasus

Caucasus (kô'kusus) [key], Rus. Kavkaz, region and mountain system, SE European Russia. The mountain system extends c.750 mi (1,210 km) from the mouth of the Kuban River on the Black Sea SE to the Apsheron peninsula on the Caspian Sea.
