Bozcaada

Bozcaada (bōzjä"ä'dä) [key]or Tenedos (ten'udos) [key], island, 15 sq mi (39 sq km), NW Turkey, in the Aegean Sea. The strategically located island was a station of the Greek fleet during the Trojan War. Xerxes used it (5th cent. B.C.) as a base for the Persian fleet. The Ottoman Turks captured it in 1657.
