Dorset
Once the seat of a British tribe, calling themselves
Dwr-trigs (water-dwellers). The Romans colonised the settlement,
and Latinised Dwr-trigs into Duro-triges. Lastly came
the Saxons, and translated the original words into their own tongue, dor-sætta (water-dwellers).
