W. D. Edmonds (Walter Dumaux Edmonds) writer Born: 7/15/1903 Birthplace: Boonville, New York
He won a Newbury Medal for his book The Matchlock Gun (1969) and a National Book Award for Bert Breen's Barn (1975). His best known book, Drums Along the Mohawk (1936), was made into a movie in 1939. He also contributed fiction to the Saturday Evening Post and other magazines. Died: 1/24/1998
